Slender as a needle and just as fine, this Edwardian bar pin is a prime example of early twentieth-century lacework filigree. The panel is hand-pierced in white gold, its surface dense with scrolling vines, tiny blossoms, and a pair of sweeping plume-like flourishes that fan out from the center—a motif borrowed from the era's love of feathers and garlands. Milgrained edges trace every line, giving the openwork a soft, beaded shimmer that catches the light.

At the heart sits a round faceted sapphire in a gentle cornflower blue, bezel-set so it floats within the filigree like a drop of water. The warm yellow gold pin stem and clasp behind (marked 14K) offer a quiet counterpoint to the cool white metal above.

Designed to fasten a collar, lapel, or ribbon sash, it's a delicate relic from an age when filigree was the height of refinement.

How to Wear with Care

Jewelry is meant to be worn, but it's also an expensive ornament. Here are a few suggestions to extend the life of your jewelry:

  • We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or another trusted jeweler every six months.
  • You should remove your rings before swimming or performing any household cleaning, as harsh chemicals can interact with precious metals and permanently damage some stones.
  • Generally, we suggest that you do not wear your jewelry to the gym, in the shower, at the pool, or while sleeping.

We do not sell what we cannot service. Should an issue arise, please get in touch. We offer an extensive range of repair services and are here to help!
