The Etruscan revival period of the late 1800s was inspired by the findings of archaeological digs in and around Rome. The Etruscans inhabited the area before the Romans did! The ancient jewelry being found was marked by gold granulation, filigree, and classical cultural themes.

This Etruscan revival brooch has a round open area of gold granulation at its top and bottom while its left and right sides are accented by a solid and elaborate filigree pattern. The piece's center, which is flat and raised, contains a European Cut diamond set inside of an eight pointed star.

The back of this brooch has an oblong oval shaped glass window that detaches, allowing for storing a memento, such as hair or a photograph. The frame's fit is very tight and this piece is in overall very good condition.

How to Wear with Care

Jewelry is meant to be worn, but it's also an expensive ornament. Here are a few suggestions to extend the life of your jewelry:

  • We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or another trusted jeweler every six months.
  • You should remove your rings before swimming or performing any household cleaning, as harsh chemicals can interact with precious metals and permanently damage some stones.
  • Generally, we suggest that you do not wear your jewelry to the gym, in the shower, at the pool, or while sleeping.

We do not sell what we cannot service. Should an issue arise, please get in touch. We offer an extensive range of repair services and are here to help!
