Made of sterling silver and 18K yellow gold, this life-size scarab brooch is head-burningly realistic in form and — are you ready for this? — his wings, legs, and mandible are articulated.

His wings are completely covered with rose cut diamonds while the rest of his body is set with generously sized oval and round blue sapphires that are natural, but heat treated (90-95% of the world's sapphires are heat treated). On the back of the piece is both a pin mechanism and a bail, meaning it's designed to be worn as either a brooch or a pendant on a chain.
