All we can say about this piece is "wow!"

Dated to 1877, this Victorian mourning ring is in like-new condition. Three small rose cut diamonds are vertically set in a marquise bezel and are enveloped by twelve seed pearls. The real fun begins with the band.

On the outer side of the shank, the 18K yellow gold words "IN • MEM • ORY • OF" are gleaned through exquisitely pitch black enamel. The band's interior is engraved, in cursive, with: "Thomas Ritchie...23rd May 1877."

What's stunning about this piece is that as of 2022, this ring is 145 years old -- and it looks brand new.

Jewelry is meant to be worn, but it's also an expensive ornament. Here are a few helpful suggestions to extend the life of your jewelry:

  • We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or your trusted local jeweler every six months.
  • You should remove your rings before swimming or performing any household cleaning, as harsh chemicals can interact with precious metals and permanently damage some stones.
  • Generally, we suggest that you do not wear your jewelry to the gym, in the shower, or while sleeping.

We do not believe in selling something we cannot service. Should an issue arise, please get in touch. We offer an extensive range of repair services and are here to help!
