Let's begin by saying that this is a LIVELY opal whose pictures do it no favors. Broad flashes of green, red, and yellow consume its entire body when rotated in the light.
It's held in place by four prongs in this authentic Victorian ring, and at the top of each of the ring's shoulders is a pair of bright set diamonds (two single cuts, a European cut, and a modern round). The ring is made of 14 karat yellow gold and has that prototypical fluted Victorian shank.
The opal is in very good condition and exhibits no crazing.
