A monthly note of what's new.
In the Victorian era and early 20th century, watch fobs were used to secure—and make easily retrievable—pocket watches from the "fob," or man's vest pocket. Often used as seals, in our time they've become collectable and are often repurposed as pendants hanging from a chain around a neck.
This fob was made in the late 1800s in 10 karat gold; the alloy is a bit rosy in color, which is common in lower carat gold from this period. A central bezel is framed by two thick textured "ropes" that are "fastened" to the piece with a golden buckle. The bezel is two faced and flips, showing a bloodstone on one side and an uncarved piece of agate on the other.

Wearing it with care
Jewelry is meant to be worn, but it's also an expensive ornament. Here are a few suggestions to extend the life of your jewelry:
- We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or another trusted jeweler every six months.
- You should remove your rings before swimming or performing any household cleaning, as harsh chemicals can interact with precious metals and permanently damage some stones.
- Generally, we suggest that you do not wear your jewelry to the gym, in the shower, at the pool, or while sleeping.
We do not sell what we cannot service. Should an issue arise, please get in touch. We offer an extensive range of repair services and are here to help!
