Sleeping Beauty turquoise is highly sought after for its robin's egg blue color and lack of brown and black matrix (veining) commonly seen in American turquoise. Its name comes from the Sleeping Beauty mine, in Globe, AZ (USA), which was a reliable source of the gem until its closure in 2012.
This solitaire style ring holds an oval piece of turquoise that is purportedly from the Sleeping Beauty mine. The setting is made of 18 karat yellow gold (which beautifully showcases the color of the stone) and has a prominently tapered band. As an added bonus, turquoise is a birthstone of December!
