A pair of vivid triangular-ish opal doublets is prong set in a 14 karat yellow gold setting and surrounded by a halo of small bright diamonds. Doublets are an assembled stone and are essentially a thin layer of opal on top of a dark (usually onyx) stone to give it a background and enhance its play of color. These stones have a strong play of color and present as blue-green from a distance.
