Half Carat+ Old European Cut Diamond in 18K White Gold Belais Art Deco Mounting
When you picture an "Art Deco" engagement ring, one or two different visions probably pop into your head. At least one of those visions surely resembles this ring.
At the center of this 18K white gold ring is a 5mm European Cut diamond (weighing at least half a carat), held in place with four prongs and set into a floating plate gently separated from the rest of the ring. Underneath the center stone is a beautifully crisp filigree pattern reminiscent of a sunrise... and two deep baguette sapphires embellish the ring's shoulders.
Stamped inside of the band is "BELAIS 18K." Belais was among the first goldsmiths to alloy 18K white gold. In fact, his alloy was granted a patent in 1920! To encourage the trade to buy his pieces, he created the slogan "Belais Made Means Well Made." Considering the shape this ring is in nearly 100 years after its creation, we have to agree!
