Peridot is one of our favorite gems. On top of being the birthstone of August, it's one of the few gemstones that occur in only one color: olive-green. The gem quality variety of olivine, it's made deep in the earth's upper mantle and is brought to the surface by volcanoes! Its hue is vivid and verdant and lovers of color usually have a soft spot for peridot.

This peridot is prong set in an interesting and generously sized yellow gold solitaire style mounting with two gold wire accents on either side of the central stone.
