This beautiful carving, done crisply in shell, is framed by a scalloped sterling silver frame. The scalloping has made the ridges tarnish, while the peaks are polished, which showcases the texture of the piece. The back has a safety clasp, where the pin is held in place by tension and secured with a rolling metal bit, and a bail sits at the top -- enabling the piece to be worn on a chain as a necklace.
