This estate cocktail ring centers on a GIA-certified natural pink sapphire from Sri Lanka, historically known as Ceylon and one of the world's most celebrated sapphire sources. The heat-treated oval has saturated magenta color with violet flashes that move across the stone as it catches the light.

The surround is what makes it a classic. Round brilliant-cut diamonds sit above and below the sapphire, while sprays of marquise diamonds fan out at each side like leaves. This mixed-cut cluster design, round and marquise working together, defined glamorous cocktail jewelry in the 1960s and '70s. It gives the ring a flower-like outline rather than the uniform ring of a modern halo.

Turn it over and you'll see an openwork wire gallery that rises in tall, fanned ribs beneath each stone, letting light in from below and giving the profile a sculptural, basket-like shape. The design ends in a clean, tapered 18K white gold shank that keeps the look balanced and wearable.

It's a bold statement ring, and a Ceylon sapphire of real presence.
