There's a quiet devotional quality to this ring that immediately marks it as a product of the Victorian era, when jewelry carried a bit of sentiment beneath its ornamental qualities.

The face is worked as a Latin cross with flared, trefoil-like terminals, each arm rising to a point and each point anchored by a single seed pearl—one at the crown, one at the foot, and three more set in a delicate horizontal bar at the crossing. Between them, flared channels of turquoise run in small squared segments down each arm. The shoulders are embellished with bands of the engraved-and-blackened details so beloved by Victorian goldsmiths, cut in crisp chevron and arrow motifs.
