Midcentury Celestial Diamond Swirl Dinner Ring in 14K White Gold

This fantastic dinner ring is made of 14 karat white gold and features a diamond swirl top with two distinct sides: one Florentine finished and the other with a high polish. The half with the Florentine finish has four flush set diamonds with radial lines carved around their settings, alluding to the sun.
The ring's shape is evocative of earlier rings commemorating the passing of Halley's Comet—with the "swoosh" being standing in as a stylized version of the comet. While there's no passing of the comet associated with the 1950s, the launch of Sputnik in 1957 officially started the Space Age, which no doubt influenced this fascinating piece.
